  • Monday: The Executive Chef, “Stay Busy, Stay In Touch, Stay Grounded And Stay At Home.” Tom Flavin tells the #Coffee@11 audience

People Worth Meeting – Tom Flavin – The Coffee at Eleven Show REPLAY

“Stay Busy, Stay In Touch, Stay Grounded And Stay At Home.” Tom Flavin’s pandemic-busting advice on Coffee at 11

From making black pudding by hand and herding the cows on the family farm in Co. Limerick before school, to working in some of the finest 5* Hotel Kitchens in the world, Tom Flavin’s story amazed and delighted all of us who formed the live virtual audience on Monday.

In a very emotive interview Tom, Executive Chef at The Strand Hotel Limerick, brought us through the reality of COVID – the sadness he felt watching thirty plus emptying out their lockers, to his walking through the eerie, dark, empty kitchens as the Strand entered lockdown, it is fair to say we all felt it, felt for him, felt for them. The green shoots are re-emerging however as he begins a ‘to go’ menu in an attempt to bring his chef family back to work slowly but steadily in advance of restrictions lifting. He cannot wait to get back to full swing, working with local producers of some of the finest ingredients in the world here along The Wild Atlantic Way.

Truly a beautiful morning on The Coffee at Eleven Show. Stick on the kettle, grab a coffee and a notepad, pull up a comfy chair and listen, learn and laugh alongside the LIVE audience in this heartfelt replay.

A great way to start another week of ‘The Coffee at Eleven Show’

  • Tuesday: The Executive Coach, “COVID; An Opportunity To Challenge Our Dysfunctional Relationship With Uncertainty” Aodan Enright

People Worth Meeting – Aodan Enright – The Coffee at Eleven Show REPLAY

“COVID-19: An Opportunity To Challenge Our Dysfunctional Relationship With Uncertainty” Aodan Enright’s Smarter Egg philosophy shared on Coffee at 11

Ladies and Gentlemen, Aodan Enright is an executive coach and facilitator based in Cork and he is one Smart Egg!

Indeed, he is in fact founder of Smarter Egg, a community of professionals bonded through thousands of hours of facilitated conversations, peer circles and offsites. He works with organisations and individuals (business owners, freelancers and professionals) in a coaching capacity and regularly gives talks to events and corporate audiences. With a career spanning the European Space Agency and Senior Management and Leadership roles, before stepping out on his own in 2008, Aodan is also well known for his interviews with high-performing people, some of which are available to view at smarteregg.com (so there was no pressure on Yours Truly!)

I’ve known Aodan for some years now, having been instructed I ‘had to meet him’ by the late, great Veronica Kenneally of Veronica’s Snacks. Having duly complied, Aodan and I realised we shared a passion for helping people through story. He then very kindly invited me to grace his stage in front of a live audience in The White Horse, Ballincollig at one of his Smarter Egg events, so I was really looking forward to turning the tables and enjoying a #CoffeewithAodan on Tuesday

It was great to catch up and we had a wonderful chat on The Coffee at Eleven Show.

Stick on the kettle, grab a coffee and a notepad, pull up a comfy chair and listen, learn and laugh alongside the LIVE audience in this fantastic replay.

  • Wednesday: The Newspaper Man, “Innovation Is Exploding Because Of COVID-19!” Will Ryan, Publisher The Limerick Post on Coffee@11

People Worth Meeting – Will Ryan – The Coffee at Eleven Show REPLAY “Innovation Is Exploding Because Of COVID-19!” Will Ryan – Editor, Publisher and Proprietor The Limerick Post Newspaper told the LIVE audience on Coffee at 11

Will Ryan is the current editor and publisher, having started in the family business as a paperboy in his early teens and working his way up – nothing like grass-roots knowledge.

Having worked in production while in school before going on to college to study Journalism and Media.

After continuing stints in other media including magazines and Radio, he re-joined the Limerick Post in 2002.

Following spells working in editorial, sales and accounts he finally went on to take over the family business from his father in 2010.

Since then Will has helped the business expand its brand beyond print to include digital content including podcasts and very innovate local video shows.

Over the years ‘The Post’ has informed and entertained the entire Midwest through circa 48,000 copies printed and distributed FOR FREE every week! This translates into a whopping 220,000 readers PLUS over 100,000 followers across all social media platforms.

Having picked up a copy of The Post the very first week I move to the Midwest in 1998, it was my pleasure meeting the man representing the family behind it on The Coffee at Eleven Show.

Stick on the kettle, grab a coffee and a notepad, pull up a comfy chair and listen, learn and laugh alongside the LIVE audience in this fantastic replay.

My special guest on Friday on ‘The Coffee at Eleven Show” was David Tighe – Regional Managing Director, Bauer Media, leading Cool FM, Downtown Radio and Downtown Country, based in Belfast.

David was born in London with parents from Kilkee Co Clare and Multyfarnham Co Westmeath.
